LMHE Announces 10-Year Retail Partnership with SSA Group

The Louisiana Music & Heritage Experience (LMHE) has selected SSA Group as its exclusive retail partner, marking another important step forward in the development of LMHE’s permanent museum destination in New Orleans.

The 10-year partnership will position retail as an extension of the museum experience by creating new opportunities to celebrate Louisiana’s extraordinary musical and cultural heritage while supporting the institution’s long-term sustainability.

SSA Group will design, develop, and operate LMHE’s retail program. The experience will feature locally inspired merchandise, artist collaborations, publications, gifts, and specialty products that reflect the people, communities, and traditions that have shaped Louisiana’s influence on music around the world.

With decades of experience serving museums, zoos, aquariums, and cultural destinations throughout North America, including a longstanding relationship with the Audubon Nature Institute, SSA Group brings extensive experience in creating retail programs that complement the mission and storytelling of cultural institutions.

For LMHE, the partnership is about much more than a traditional museum gift shop. The goal is to extend the stories told inside the museum beyond its galleries, giving visitors new ways to connect with Louisiana music, artists, and culture while creating meaningful support for LMHE’s mission.

The agreement comes as LMHE continues to advance plans for its permanent New Orleans museum destination, which will explore the roots and evolution of jazz, blues, gospel, Cajun, Zydeco, R&B, funk, and rock and roll through immersive exhibitions, live performances, education, and community engagement.
